Hiroshi Clark – Los Angeles

There is no one reason why I am attracted to photograph the people that I do. I think my goal is to have some sort of connection with them. I favor photographing people that in my mind are real. If the person is not somebody that I know, I usually ask them to tell me a story. I am looking for honesty. Not honesty in what they say but honesty in their gesture while telling the story. This connection adds context to the picture. Context is as important to me as the photograph itself. For me my pictures are the excuse I have to to be in the places I’ve been and to have the conversations that I have had.
