Episode 3.3 – Sacha Lecca

Recorded November 13th, 2015 at Stockholm Studios in Bushwick, Brooklyn

In this episode, photographer Sacha Lecca (Deputy Photo Editor of Rolling Stone), joins us to discuss life working at an iconic magazine, photographing concerts, Instagram, the news business and a few stellar photobooks from his collection.

Sacha’s been photographing a lot of bands in Brooklyn the last years, so it was interesting to hear about those experiences and then take a listen to them. We thought it would be nice to play a few tracks so Sacha reached out to the bands for us to get permission to share. Thanks to the The Heaters andSurfbort for supplying the songs!

We had tough time picking the books for the photobook discussion because Sacha brought a healthy stack for us to browse. We settled on The Geometry of Innocence by season two guest Ken Schles. It’s a phenomenal book. Ken is one of Sacha’s big influences. For the music book we settled on, Made In The UK: The Music of Attitude, 1977-1983 by Janette Beckman. From Norway, we have Black and Blue by Martin Andersen, and finally Bedknobs & Broomsticks, by Trent Parke, the first Little Brown Mushroom book we’ve had on the show.
